The development of the Xenon HID (High Density Discharge) vehicle headlamp bulb, which has been responsible for cutting night time accidents on rural roads by more than half, has received a prestigious 2015 Prince Michael International Road Safety Award.
Richard Armstrong, UK business development manager at Philips Automotive Lighting, said: “On behalf of my company I am delighted to accept this road safety award from HRH Prince Michael of Kent.
“I know that my colleagues and engineers will take great pride in the fact that our Xenon HID bulb technology has been internationally recognised for its proven contribution to preventing road accidents and saving lives.”
