Bridgend-based Avia Autos has hailed automotive cleaning supplier, Craig Wallace a hero for his efforts to keep workshops supplied with hand sanitiser.
Cardiff-based Craig Wallace, who normally distributes cleaning products to the automotive sector in large quantities, decided to take action amid unprecedented demand.
He said: “Normally I sell alcohol sanitiser in gallons, but it simply isn’t feasible right now.
“I have spent all night decanting the product into 500ml bottles and whipped around everyone in a little van to ensure it was distributed fairly”.

Hayley Pells, director at Avia Autos said: “Here at Avia, like a lot of small businesses, we’ve been struggling to get hold of essential items such as blue roll, disposable gloves and the holy grail – hand sanitiser – to keep the team and our clients safe.
“Craig is truly an aftermarket hero.”
Avia Autos technician, Rebecca Watt said: “I’ve had to hide the toilet roll, we normally buy in bulk and the last consignment should last us until the next one, easily, especially with fewer clients using the waiting room but we started to notice items were going missing like the hand soap.
“You can’t blame people, everyone is just a little scared and wants to protect their families.”
