There are now less than 60 days remaining to complete mandatory MOT tester annual training for 2018/19, the Independent Garage Association (IGA) has said.
It follows a DVSA warning that progress on completing the latest training and annual assessment is still low, adding that the combined effect of more complex subject matter and the higher pass mark of 70 per cent is “becoming apparent”.
An IGA spokesperson said: “Although two months may seem as though testers still have a long time to complete their training, it is vital that your three hours of CPD and the annual assessment are completed and logged on the VTS before the 31st March deadline – otherwise testers could face suspension.
“To help testers ensure they remain compliant with the DVSA’s regulations you can complete your MOT annual training for the 2018/19 year with the RMI’s range of training packages.
“Whether you prefer to complete your training online, via a workbook, or face-to-face, we have a training package to suit your needs.”
Results suggest that testers are finding the latest assessment more challenging than in previous years.
