NAPA Racing UK, alongside Motorbase Performance, has confirmed it will also field a car in BTCC support category the Porsche Carrera Cup GB Championship, with top team JTR.
Joe Tandy Racing (JTR) was established by the eponymous late racing driver and is run by his brother Nick, a Le Mans 24 Hours winner and hugely successful factory driver.
Ellis, a former World Karting Champion, embarks on his maiden season in the country’s fastest one-make championship, having had a brief spell in single-seaters.
Expanding NAPA Racing UK’s presence on the BTCC package, the JTR-entered Porsche joins the two Motorbase Performance-run Ford Focus ST cars which are being raced in touring cars this year by reigning Porsche Carrera Cup GB Champion Dan Cammish and reigning BTCC Champion Ash Sutton.
Making its public debut at Silverstone International Circuit in Northamptonshire as part of the annual Porsche Carrera Cup GB Media Day, the car features the bold and striking presence of the NAPA brand.
Steve Richardson, Alliance Automotive Group managing director said: “Having the NAPA brand associated with a championship that has such great heritage is a real honor and we look forward to seeing the Porsche out on the track.
“The response since NAPA Racing UK entered British motorsport has been phenomenal and we’re delighted to further solidify our position with an entry into this year’s Porsche Carrera Cup.”
