NGK-sponsored Speedway star Dan Bewley has lifted his first British Championship after winning the rescheduled final in Manchester with a six-ride maximum.
The Cumbrian rider bounced back from a disappointing Kaeser FIM Speedway GP of Sweden – Malilla, where he managed just two points, by winning his five heats.
He then won the grand final to top the podium ahead of runner-up Tom Brennan, also sponsored by NGK, third-placed Craig Cook and Danny King in fourth place.
Bewley’s British title triumph continues what has been an incredible season for the Maryport-born racer, who stormed to back-to-back Speedway GP wins in Cardiff and Wroclaw, Poland last month.
John Money, of sponsor NGK Spark Plugs (UK) Ltd, said: ”Dan has enjoyed a remarkable season and winning the British title is further evidence of him becoming one of the World’s top riders.”
