Ignition and sensor specialist NGK is to sponsor motorcycle ace Chrissy Rouse in his full debut season in the 2022 Bennetts British Superbike Championship.
The Geordie teacher returns to BMW power with Crowe Performance, which helped propel him to the 2020 Pirelli National Superstock 1000 Championship, as he embarks on his first full season in the world’s leading domestic motorcycle racing series.
Mark Hallam, marketing manager for NGK Spark Plugs (UK) Ltd which has been a long-term supporter of Chrissy, said: “I am very pleased to announce that NGK will once again be sponsoring Chrissy in what will be a big season for him.
“I am sure all NGK customers who are motorcycle racing fans cannot wait to see him in action in this season’s British Superbike Championship.
“Chrissy is one of the most talented young riders in the country and will be determined to give his all for the team.”
The 26-year-old is set to ride a new BMW M 1000 RR, prepared by Crowe Performance, in the championship which gets underway at Silverstone on April 15-17.
He said: “We are going to be running a very similar set-up to what we had in 2020, with our own team running a Crowe Performance BMW.
“I know it is going to be a huge commitment but I’m really excited and both mine and the team’s aim this year is to just get stuck in and do our best.”
