Mazda MX-5 Mk4: Replace the bush, NOT the hub

Fitting a Polybush solves the problem of premature rear hub carrier bush failure

Mazda MX-5 Mk4: Replace the bush, NOT the hub

Developed in conjunction with MX-5 Parts, the Polybush rear hub bush kit is a long-lasting and cost-effective solution to bush failure, without replacing the entire rear hub.

With many fourth-generation MX-5s now out of warranty, many owners have been left facing some eye-watering costs, compounded with a shortage of OE hubs.

The Polybush bush kit boasts several engineering advantages, including the use of multiple material hardness, which gives precise movement without the associated noise, vibration and harshness, while retaining the MX-5’s renowned handling.

Polybush products are not affected by oil, petrol or road salts, and are extremely resistant to abrasion. They also retain their original state and do not suffer from compression set in the same way as rubber or cheaper injection moulded polyurethane bushes.

This means that they last up to six times longer in normal use, while mild steel zinc-plated inserts – as used in OE bushes – prevent galvanic corrosion and wear to mating parts.
