Automotive aftermarket suppliers, Ring has been shortlisted in the Yorkshire Post Excellence in Business Awards 2018, with a nomination in the category with a turnover of between £10m and £50m, sponsored by Grant Thornton.
Following an interview and site visit at Ring’s UK head office in Leeds, which was supplemented by a five-hour independent judging session, it was decided that the brand would join four other nominees in the category.
Ring will join other Yorkshire-based businesses during an evening event at York Railway Museum on 1 November, with those that are successful taking to the stage to collect their award from BBC news reader, Steph McGovern.
Attracting the second highest level of entries in the history of the awards, Ring is hoping that this will be the latest accolade to be added to its cabinet, with the company winning over 170 awards throughout Europe.
Andrew Devonald, marketing and business development senior manager for Grant Thornton and a judge for this year’s awards, said: “The judges were particularly impressed with the innovation and commitment to quality that the business has.
“We hadn’t realised how complex the business is, nor how far its reach goes beyond the range of products that we are more familiar with.”
Henry Bisson, marketing manager at Ring, said: “We are delighted to be nominated in such a high-profile category at this year’s awards.
“Yorkshire is a huge area, with a vast number and range of businesses and it’s an honour to be included as one of the top businesses.”
The nomination comes at the end of an exciting year for Ring, which saw the business invest in its new future technologies unit, European head office and quality assurance facilities along with new product innovations and a strategic new rebrand.
