The Straightset air compressor timer could reduce a workshop’s electricity bill

Air leaks on compressed air systems represent a significant cost to workshops. If a compressors is not switched off, it could be left running unattended during evenings, weekends and holidays.

If a typical 5kw compressor runs unattended for five minutes per hour, this can waste 42 kw/hr of power a week. That’s approximately £350 a year based on electricity at a cost of 16p per kw/hr.

Straightset has put together a simple seven-day programmable timer that runs a motorised valve to turn an air compressors’s air supply on and off up to 24 times a day.

The installation is simple when wired to an adjacent 240v spur, socket or even the incoming supply for the compressor. It is simple and fail-safe, while acting as a back-up to turning off the air compressor.

A wifi option is available if required.
