Braking friction product manufacturer TMD Friction has affirmed its sustainability commitment and environmental credentials with the launch of a new video detailing its achievements in the area.

A swathe of initiatives to ensure TMD Friction’s product development and manufacturing capability is as sustainable as possible has seen the company shape Euro 7 emissions legislation in partnership with the United Nations and develop lightweight and copper-free Textar brake pads for vehicle manufacturers and the aftermarket.

As part of its commitment to support its customers, TMD Friction’s latest video launch underlines its green credentials in the development of high-quality friction material and braking products.

TMD Friction’s exacting research and development experts constantly evaluate new raw materials that can make its friction formula more sustainable. Ninety-five percent of the friction formulations for passenger car applications are now copper and antimony free.

Its sustainability practices are underpinned by a pledge to power all manufacturing facilities with renewable energy by 2030. In 2022, more than 4,000 tonnes of abrasive material from the production process were recycled, with a 50 percent reduction in the amount of waste generated in manufacturing.
