High-performance Mintex brake discs forged by thousands of miles of testing on the racing circuit are now available for road-going Mini cars.

TMD Friction’s Mintex braking brand has released a brake product developed in the Mini Challenge JCW (John Cooper Works) series.

The new brake disc, part number MDC2951C (335mm diameter), offers high-end braking performance for Mini Cooper S JCW and Challenge models (F55 and F56), with corresponding Mintex brake pads MDB30804 or M1144 Mintex Racing performance versions.

Richard Barton, category manager for Mintex Racing at TMD Friction, said: “Mintex has an exceptional reputation when it comes to performance braking friction products. These are developed through uncompromising research and testing processes in some of the UK’s most demanding racing settings.

“Mintex Racing performance-engineered brake discs are specifically designed and developed to excel in racing settings, including in the visceral Mini Challenge, and the road-going range maintains the high-end braking quality drivers would expect from brakes developed in conjunction with motorsport.”

The brake discs feature a dimpled surface to keep the disc temperature down in demanding braking settings and improve braking performance by expelling gasses, dirt and debris.

The dimpled and grooved brake discs are available alongside a range of Mintex brake pads, which were specially selected to fit the limited-edition Mini JCW production car.

High-performance brake discs also available from Mintex for Mini cars are MDC2235 (294mm) and MDC2725 (316mm) for R56 Cooper S and JCW models. They’re a unique offering within the Mintex range as the one of few performance discs available from the brand featuring the dimpled and grooved design.

Mintex Brakebook allows users to create catalogues tailored to their individual requirements, whether for the entire product range, a selection of products or even for special models.
