Blocked1) SMMT are incapable of replying to Tweets
2) SMMT have no idea of their opening hours

4) Would you really want to fit a ECP part to a hybrid drive train
5) “insulated rescue pole” hrrm lets thinkA) your expecting someone to get a zap – but they cant enter the safe sone
If you get a zap from DC at that voltage chances are your fried before you know it. If your heart stops not long before you get brain damage and become
Paralised.B) if your trained by IMI approved test centre. Why do you need rescue pole?

Any of the really older or really newer ones!JLR dont answer the phone when you ring anyway.
Was there a total carbon footprint for the event and fuel used figure to hand?
Meat-Head
BlockedHow cool is that, when dealer says no parts available.
So what about the brown plug that rots over the bellhousing?
The doors that flex as you shut them etc

October 16, 2020 at 7:45 pm in reply to: Consultation launched into future of Block Exemption #202223Meat-Head
BlockedOk, so manufacturers are required to supply parts, ring Mercedes
And try and order full lockset, they will ONLY supply certain parts to their dealer network. As for block exception why should it be discontinued!
Can understand oil/filters having to be genuine for warranty
Purposes but the rest, you brought it, do what you like.If you want to put paper ears on your cat, you dont need its mothers
Input, likewise its your car you paid for it.October 13, 2020 at 10:45 pm in reply to: The symptoms and causes of exhaust gas temp sensor failures #201990Meat-Head

October 12, 2020 at 7:12 pm in reply to: Mechanic left with 45% burns following garage fire and two hour wait for ambulance #201966Meat-Head
BlockedWhere ever possible get clothing removed if on fire. As its already
Soft and warm. Yet when it cools down it will be hard and solid and more difficult to remove. So try not to wear shellsuits when working on cars.
As for what caused the fire, what was the job he was doing?
Brake pipes? Or fuel leak #ethnolMeat-Head
BlockedWhere possable avoid them, but odd item only them that can get.

Last thing you want is one at front of workshop with no way of getting out
Or anymore space to put some citroens or a rotten Reno.As for the offer, decline it, if your lucky enough for it to torch an entire multi-storey carpark, taken the offer cant sue them as accepted as compsation.

October 12, 2020 at 6:31 pm in reply to: More common mistakes garages make when responding to customer reviews #201952Meat-Head
BlockedThere are companies that dont have a telephone number
(Xero accounting people) for a start, or some companies
That just use faketube and fakebook as their contact detailsOften seen company van with just a company name no address no phone number
No website, no DK profile etc.You tried getting hold of these companies to say something, very difficult.
As for feedback often find Tweet a company instead of taking it onboard just block you.
For example the motorombdusman service, nothing nasty and blocjed me
Same with Delphi and all the Bosch automotive folks.October 8, 2020 at 5:50 pm in reply to: Vauxhall launches “all makes fixed price” servicing and repairs across dealer network #201807Meat-Head

1) replying to a Tweeted question (simple couple of times) without blocking
2) in capable of replying to an email
3) not really sure what there opening hours are when telephonedImi are also incapable of
1) replying to a ‘mis tweet’ you dont block someone for a mistake
You sell them something they dont want or need2) incapable of a sensible fire evacuation plan
3) incapable of giving a name/number of ANY garage
That can look at a car with warning light on in a given
Location.EDIT. LINK mentions second. Most confusing

BlockedNever had the misfortune to have anything like that , but my
Mate had a customer with an elpitic fit, as the guy was in the door way, he just stepped over the man and carried on working, he quite rightly pointed out if he didn’t his boss would have been upset as how do you invoice for medical repairs
When covered by the NHS.As for modern heart surgery, routine as fitting a turbo charger to anything with a HDI 16 engine or heater motor in a corsa/punto!
October 3, 2020 at 11:01 pm in reply to: Autoelectro confirms latest start motor and alternator additions #201421Meat-Head
BlockedOnce upon a time you could mix and match, t’ same dynamo and control
Box, yer could, swap from one make/model t’ another.Nowadays you got t’ use t’ computer t’ tell compu’er it has one of them new fangled alternator things.
Some cars you have t’ tell t’ computer it got a new belt 😮
On them ones with the ‘Dyna-Starter’Then the extra weight and cost of these ‘stop-start’ batteries.
Your stop-start special self starter solenoid to save 0.5 seconds on restart.
Dont think the 1985 Volkswagen Polo C Formula E had the extra solenoid!
Meat-Head
BlockedUsed to be free to replace, to apply for log book when car just aquired
Should be free, its a piece of paper the dvla super computer just dont careOwners that have lost theirs yes charge but if with other documents then discounted

September 30, 2020 at 1:29 am in reply to: DVSA updates guidance on how to request ‘key’ for connected MOT equipment #201307Meat-Head
BlockedSounds like hassle, the boss is the only person with access to that email
Account, he/she is on their 6th holiday of the year, currently on a yacht in the gulf of mekkico With no internet access. As for the ‘key’ does each machine store it?
What happens if machine fails?
If everything is connecting by Bluetooth® can be hacked
#blue snarfing.Just for reference the new electronic passports were hacked on day of release!
If Bob Marley comes along and starts jamming, does test get stopped?
Also on MOT history don’t show brake results anyway!
September 29, 2020 at 3:23 pm in reply to: Less than a quarter of new cars still have a manual handbrake, research finds #201306Meat-Head
BlockedAutomatic parking brakes are a bad idea, the amount of times get out of a car and its not applied.
Did see a document moaning about fully electric brakes being the worst
As for handbrake turns or as an emergency, lift switch, hold and hope
Meat-Head
BlockedThis was on that TV show, be interesting to stick a £20 trolley jack
Under one corner, see if you can open the back doors still. As requards battery powered ‘anything’ vacuum cleaner, drill
Kids toy car, bicycle lights, mobile phone etc, the batteries
Degrade.Once battery gets tired they fail rapid, everything is in series,
So you get reversed cells and ‘boiled cells’Flatten a lorry battery by tapping off first 12v battery, then you will
Quite soon end up with TWO dud batteries, as first wont charge and second will be
Fizzing away at 16 volts. In an ideal world a 2 volt 1000ah cell would be great, but the terminals
Would be the size of a cat.If your in some dessert somewhere, delivering pizzas at night
Leaving it to charge on solar by day, do it.But the losses in electric network, when the power starts in belguim
Turned into dc, across channel then turned back into ac, then up
The country, to a power socket that’s drawing about 10 amps
Why do that?As for “100% torque at zero rpm”. Great spin that clutch centre out.
As for “no gearbox” drilling a hole in a tree with your black & wrecker drill, stick it low box, same for cycling uphill!Get a bad connection, clean it, now changed resiance of terminal thats 5nm tight
Draws 900 amps not 90!Electric bicycle the same 18650 cells, sone guy on YouTube did 25 miles bike ride, stopped 60 seconds, burnt his hoose doown.
