For Essex Motor Factors, when it comes to batteries – car, commercial vehicle, camping and leisure – Banner is quite simply the icing on the cake.
So it will come as little surprise to hear that Banner delivered a celebratory commemorative cake to mark its 30th anniversary recently.
Indeed it could be seen as a double celebration of sorts, given that this year also coincides with Essex Motor Factors’ 10-year association with Banner – one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of batteries and battery accessories.
Essex Motor Factors director, Matt Little said: “It really was a lovely and unexpected surprise from Banner, however it is safe to say that it really didn’t last that long after arrival.
“Maybe a bigger one next time.
“From a business perspective, one of the major things that attracted us to Banner from the outset a decade ago, not to mention the obvious quality of their product, availability and product relevance, was the fact they too are a true family owned business.
“It is fair to say that Banner has played a significant part in helping us to develop our business over recent years and we have ambitious plans to continue moving the business forward during our fourth decade of business.”
Acquired by Christine and Trevor Little in April 1991, Essex Motor Factors remains a true family-owned and run business, with Matt and Kirstie, Christine and Trevor’s son and daughter now both working in the business.
Indeed Essex Motor Factors has, over the last 30 years, developed into one of the region’s leading distributors of quality automotive parts and accessories to a garage and independent customer base Operating a delivery fleet of 30 vans, Essex Motor Factors offers more than 80,000 part numbers from leading aftermarket suppliers such as Banner, delivering within a 14 mile radius of its four branches located in Braintree, Maldon, Witham and Bishop’s Stortford.
Specifically within the arena of batteries, Essex Motor Factors is renowned for its quirky ‘Battery Shack’ operation, one that sees the company stock unusual batteries for all types of applications difficult to source, be it from mobility to marine.
Commenting on behalf of Banner, business development manager, Russell Shea said: “It’s great to see two family-owned and run businesses working so well together, and on behalf of everyone at Banner GB I would like to congratulate Essex Motor Factors on celebrating their 30th anniversary milestone.
“And what better way to do so than by offering them a different slice of Banner, aside from the supply of different battery types for its unique Battery Shack service.”
