Automotive consultancy, Fourmative is encouraging MOT testing stations to take up AEC support for expert guidance and advice.
A Fourmative spokesperson said: “DVSA have permitted the appointment of an external Consultant to undertake the role of Authorised Examiner Consultant (AEC).
“Most Test Stations are welcoming of the support to have the opportunity of a qualified specialist overlook their VTS’s and provide the critical support function now required of a modern MOT facility.
“The work provided will come in the form of both onsite and remote access.”
Fourmative undertakes site visits to perform a thorough audit, reviewing the entire MOT operation and processes adopted.
The results of the visits are then compared to DVSA standards to highlight areas for improvement where required.
Fourmative also remotely reviews training records, looking at tester and site manager training, ensuring it is up to date and planned.
Tester quality information is also checked to identify high or low fail rates, test times and fail rates per product to help with the next quality control.
Test Logs are checked to identify abandoned tests, IP addresses, short or long tests and the method of internet access.
Current RAG rating and last site review from DVSA are additionally reviewed.
The spokesperson added: “All of this is typically done in a supportive way, with your business interests at the centre of the AEC Role.”
