KYB makes parts identification easier with enhanced data

Shock absorber, top mount and protection kit data reforms to help Autocat users find the right KYB parts

KYB makes parts identification easier with enhanced data
KYB is the first shock absorber manufacturer to organise its data in this way.

Suspension component manufacturer KYB has enhanced its existing Autocat v8 data, resulting in greater clarity of product searches and improved ease of use for catalogue users.

Listings for shock absorbers have been split into two sections for OE and upgrade specification parts.

Top mounts and protection kits have also been given their own data section to allow easier maintenance going forward.

The optimisations will allow a more specific list of parts to be returned, resulting in a quicker, easier part selection process.

Andy Marpole, general manager for KYB UK, said: “I am very pleased that KYB is the first supplier to optimise its data in this way, it should make a big difference to our customers when they want to select the most appropriate part for vehicles.”

Tony Mason, sales manager of data and e-commerce at MAM Software commented, said: “We commend the efforts that KYB has made to improve its data.

“Correct, up-to-date information is essential if the right part is to be supplied and fitted.

“By restructuring its data and mapping it to the new Autocat v8 Make Model Index, KYB is making parts identification easier and more accurate for its customers.”

MAM Software’s Autocat v8 electronic parts catalogue now features detailed parts data across more than 600 lines of parts, representing over 140 supplier brands.

Using version 8 data enhances part to vehicle matching, resulting in fewer returns due to the sale of incorrect parts.

The latest version of MAM’s Autowork Online garage management system, WebTrade B2B portal and WebRetail B2C website have all been enhanced to use version 8 data.
