The demand for Sykes-Pickavant’s EV Battery Maintenance Tables has exponentially increased since the launch last year, propelled by the continued growth in popularity of both passenger and commercial electric vehicles.

With the current governmental projection to end the sale of new petrol and diesel cars and vans by 2030, it is crucial that garages and workshops are fully equipped with the latest tools and equipment to meet the ever-growing percentage of electric vehicles coming in through their doors.

Not only must businesses be equipped to work on electric vehicles, they must also be able to do so in a safe and secure manner to protect both the technician and the parts being maintained.

Batteries of electric vehicles often prove to be heavy and irregular in design but generally have one flat surface, the new EV Battery Maintenance Table utilises this aspect by securing the battery in place using a hole and peg feature.

This unique format has been created to suit a wide range of batteries in all shapes and sizes, aiding safe removal and transportation around the workshop.

The table provides a stable platform for maintenance and repair activities as well as tilting to allow for bleeding of the battery if required.

The table’s position is lockable to ensure safety during maintenance and transportation with the tilting mechanism also allowing for space saving storage when the table is not in use.

Four central lifting pads allow for the battery to be removed safely without technicians’ hands being trapped underneath and provide smooth installation of the battery back into the vehicle.

There are a number of different size peg sets supplied and available, allowing for a wide range of options to secure the workpiece based on its size and shape.

Simple or complex repairs are possible with basic, intermediate and comprehensive table formats available, each supplied with a different amount of peg sets to suit your workshop’s vehicle range.

For workshops that already have a hydraulic table, the EV table can be mounted onto it, otherwise the hydraulic table can be supplied as part of the package.

The product is suitable for all types of garage and workshop, even those with a low electric vehicle intake due to its versatility.

For example, the removal of engines and gearboxes is also made incredibly simple with this product, with many existing users dubbing it the ideal all round support solution.
