A shocked woman called police after she noticed an exact duplicate of her car was parked next to her silver Ford Kuga at a garden centre in Warwickshire.
Police confirmed that one of the Kugas was stolen from Birmingham last year and had been masked by copying a genuine number plate.
The car was also connected to a number of burglaries across the West Midlands and investigation into the stolen vehicle are ongoing.
