With thunderstorms and heavy rain battering much of the UK over the past few days, flash flooding has been causing problems for the whole of the transport network – but that didn’t stop one motorist attempting to cross a flash flood in South London.
Footage has appeared online showing the moment that a Vauxhall Zafira drove at speed straight into the water.
Not long after entering the water the vehicle beings to float.

60-year-old Darlington Imoh told the Press Association he “hugged and thanked” firefighters after they saved him.
Who knows, perhaps his Zafira was about to burst into flames?
