The owners of a garage in Scotland say they are “absolutely gutted” and “devastated” after thieves stole up to £15,000 worth of tools from their workshop.

David and Abbe Ferguson, who have run Ace Autos in Clackmannanshire for six years, discovered the break-in when they arrived at the workshop on Sunday morning (24 September).

Speaking to the Observer, Abbe said: “We’re absolutely gutted. David is devastated. It’s his livelihood and it all just feels so personal. David and I, and our son on weekends, are the only people in the company – it’s our only income and David can’t operate without this equipment.

“We’ve had to put off and rearrange some jobs because of it all. It’s blown us away and we’ve barely slept since it happened.”

Among the items stolen was a diagnostics computer, which can be remotely disabled, rendering it useless to anyone other the garage owners.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Police enquiries are ongoing following a report of a break-in and theft of equipment from a garage in Devon Village, Fishcross.

“The incident was reported to police around 10.55am on Sunday, September 24, and is believed to have occurred sometime during the night of September 23.”
