Xpress Tyres owner, Sajid Sajid, has voiced his frutration after more than one hundred tyres were stolen from the premises on Tame Street.

The Manchester Evening News reported that Sajid discovered the burgulary as it was in progress by chance, after his brother logged onto the CCTV system from home.

After alerting the police, a lone officer was despatched but then informed not to engage with the gang for her own safety.

The officer had arrived as the last two men were clambering into their getaway vehicle, having taken one hundred tyres (size 14 to 22) as well as a tyre inflation gun worth around £600.

Dismayed that the burgulars were able to escape, despite the presence of a police officer, Sajid commented: “They knew exactly what they were looking for and went straight to it.

“I’ve got thousands of tyres, but they only stole the brand new ones.”
