ITN Productions has partnered with the IMI to produce a series of four programmes featuring key industry interviews and news-style reports along with sponsored editorial profiles of some of the leading organisations in the sector.
Hosted by Natasha Kaplinksy, the film premiered at the IMI annual dinner earlier this month.
IMI CEO, Steve Nash, said: “This is an unparalleled opportunity for the IMI to tell the amazing story of the retail motor industry.
“It’s also a tremendous endorsement of the work we have already done to raise the public profile of the sector and to advance the interests of individuals and businesses within it.”
The IMI has said the programme will play an important role for shaping the future of motoring, championing motoring professionals, as well as demonstrating the benefits of licensing and professionalism to the public and politicians.
The mix of news items ranges from apprenticeships and the 300 per cent return on investment available to businesses, electric and hybrid cars and the need for up-skilling the workforce to deal with them, the demand for a license to practice for technicians, and a look at what the future holds for the industry worth over £152 billion per year.
