Delphi is advising technicians on the differences between air conditioning (AC) compressors in vehicles with an internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric vehicles (EVs).

AC compressors in EVs are electrically driven by the high-voltage system, offering consistent cooling performance and efficient interior heating.

ICE vehicles typically use standard PAG oil, while EVs require specialist oil with low conductivity. Using the incorrect oil could result in a high voltage error. And as EVs become more commonplace at independent garages, technicians need to be equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to service them.
