David Wilson of Technics Motor Services was the lucky winner of the Ring Automotive borescope inspection camera, kindly provided by Schaeffler REPXPERT.
Garage Wire received more than 100 entries for the prize draw, but David’s name was the first out of the virtual hat.
David runs the Wednesbury-based independent garage with his son, who joined eight years ago and has since taken on a managerial role. The pair have developed a strong reputation in the area, as highlighted by several five-star reviews.
Peter Glendenning wrote: “Two of the nicest blokes you could ever meet. I would recommend any one to take their car there for services and MOT. They do a good job at a fair price.”
Ian Johnson said: “My father had an issue with his Vauxhall Corsa, on speaking with the garage they were very professional and dealt with the matter promptly giving us an accurate quote on what was needed and sticking to the price. It’s a big thumbs up from me. I would highly recommend using this garage.“
David told Garage Wire he worked at a main dealer workshop until the age of 23, when he applied to the Prince’s Trust for funding to help start his own garage business. He said: “I showed them my business plan, but they rejected it, so I told them to keep their money! I would do it anyway, as I was so determined to succeed.
“The next day, they rang and offered me the money, so I rented some premises for 10 years, before going on to buy them.
“I have been in business for 40 years, becoming an MOT tester in 1994 when I took on another unit.”
Congratulations to David for winning the prize. Stay tuned for the next Schaeffler REPXPERT giveaway, which will be announced in Friday’s bulletin.
