Revealed: The most and least reliable cars of 2023

The Lexus IS is more reliable than the Audi A6, and when it comes to buying a large SUV, a Ford Kuga diesel is likely to be less dependable than a Toyota RAV4. This is according to the results of a new reliability survey.

Some of the results are unlikely to come as a surprise to those who service and repair the nation’s cars, but a few things stand out. For example, not one Ford Mustang Mach-E owner who took part in the What Car? Reliability Survey reported a fault with their car, making it the most reliable electric SUV in the country.

Meanwhile, the Porsche Taycan, a car with a starting price of £79,200, is the least reliable electric car, with 46 percent of the cars going wrong.

Nearly 22,000 car owners took part in the survey, which delivers good news for Suzuki and Lexus. Click here for the full results, including the cars in second and third place in each category.
