Comma spotlights workshop heroes for International Women’s Day

Comma is launching a social media and email campaign to share stories of women who love being part of the UK automotive industry.

The campaign uncovers how they got their start in automotive, what they enjoy most about their job and what advice they would give to someone considering a career in their industry. It will run throughout March, as part of International Women’s Day celebrations on 8 March.

One of those who contributed is Becky Tomkins, who works at RP Motors in Tewkesbury and traded in her job in education for a new career at the independent garage.

Becky said: “Even though the career path was completely different, I could relate my learnt skills of good communication, customer service, organisation, approachability, problem solving and attention-to-detail to the job. I love working as part of a small, strong team who are customer focused. I get pride from our satisfied customers and the feedback that our team receives.”

A spokesperson from Comma’s marketing team, added: “International Women’s Day is about recognising the achievements of women around the world, and we wanted to help celebrate the skill, innovation, and dedication of those who enjoy working in, and helping to power, the UK automotive industry.”

Comma is encouraging garages and workshops to get involved and highlight others like Becky. Visit Comma Oil on social media to find out more.
