First Line expands EV range to support growing demand

First Line has significantly enhanced its Borg & Beck product line for the electric vehicle (EV) market, introducing 11 new parts for the Tesla Model 3 (5YJ3) 01/17>, in the last year, including brake pads, brake hoses, suspension arms, CV joints and drive shafts.

In total, customers can now access 90 Borg & Beck references, across 17 product groups, for Tesla Model 3, Model S, Model X and Model Y applications.

In response to the future ban on new petrol and diesel cars, First Line has enhanced its product lines to meet the growing demand for electric cars, now providing more than 1,500 references for EVs and over 3,000 for hybrid vehicles.

Dan Joyner, managing director at First Line said: “Although statistics show that the market share for EVs remains a minority in comparison to internal combustion engine powered vehicles, the recent surge in sales of EVs means that there are now more than 920,000 examples registered in the UK, with more than 262,000 new EV registrations in the UK since January 2023 alone.

“In addition to this, a further 560,000 plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEVs) can now be found on UK roads, and new PHEV sales in the first 10 months of 2023 already represent a 25 percent increase on the total UK PHEV vehicle parc figures at the end of 2022.

“These are trends that the aftermarket cannot ignore, and it is vital that, as a sector, we are prepared to not only embrace this shift, but also have the parts in range and in stock, accompanied with the required product and technical knowledge to meet this growing demand.

“Transitioning to EVs is more than a trend; it is also our responsibility towards a cleaner planet. Through our Borg & Beck brand, we are committed to innovation and reliability in the EV landscape.”

All of the company’s new-to-range products can be found in the newly updated online catalogue WebCat, allowing distributors access to the brand’s impressive portfolio of components.
