Brands Hatch to host next EV Tech Roadshow

Our Virtual Academy’s EV Tech Roadshow is the ideal course for technicians who work on electric and hybrid vehicles and want more than just a certificate.

That’s because the four-day course is a proper, hands-on experience, with students fully immersed in the world of electric. Time spent in the classroom is kept to a minimum, with more time spent in the workshop, conducting practical activities and working on real cars.

Some of the topics covered include:

  • HV components, function and operation: HV batteries, contactors, cables, inverters, DC-DC converters, motor generators and more.
  • Core testing techniques: insulation resistance testing, testing for an absence of voltage and equipotential bonding checks.
  • The Dos and Don’ts of high voltage safety, along with debunking the myths.
  • EV inspection and maintenance, including braking, HVAC and lubrication.
  • High voltage isolation procedures – all common types.
  • Designed in safety systems – HVIL, isolation monitoring, galvanic isolation, overcurrent protection and more

Successful candidates will receive:

  • Massively important skills and knowledge.
  • An Our Virtual Academy (OVA) EV Tech certificate.
  • An EV Tech badge and sticker.
  • Three months access to a suite of interactive online hybrid & EV training.
  • TechSafe qualifying IMI certificate – IMI Level 3 award in electric / hybrid vehicle system repair and replacement – Ofqual ID 603/1468/0

No electrified vehicle experience is necessary, but you must have appropriate vehicle maintenance and repair knowledge and skills at Level 3.

If this sounds like the course for you in 2024, the next EV Tech Roadshow takes place on 5-8 March at Brands Hatch. The cost is £995 plus VAT.
