98% of MOT testers passed their training and assessment on time

The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) has confirmed that more than 98 percent of MOT testers passed their annual training and assessment on time this year.

Des Hall, manager from The Test Centre Training, says organisation is key: “We always recommend completing your annual assessment early and not leaving it to the last minute.

“We have courses at our purpose-built training facility throughout the year and also have the option of group bookings if businesses want to get all their technicians trained together on their site. The process to return to testing is harder now, so it’s never been more important to keep on top of your annual assessment.”

In addition, this year technicians have to also record their annual training on the MOT testing service. This was a change issued by DVSA special notice 02-24.

Des added: “It’s great to see the industry going digital, but as with all changes, this is an additional process technicians have to now complete each year.

“In light of this change, our course has been adapted to include time for technicians to login and record their training while they are fully supported by our team. We want to ensure technicians can turn up for their annual training & assessment and leave with everything complete and nothing to worry about.

“Completing training with an approved provider makes it much easier to record and provide evidence for your training.”

To support its clients, all testers who qualified with The Test Centre Training will receive a phone call to get them booked in early and remove the stress.
