The Danish government has opened visa applications for a wide range of professions as it tackles a skills shortage in 2024.

It hopes that foreign workers will be attracted to the Scandinavian country.

SchengenVisaInfo.com has published a list of 110 professions, which features several jobs related to the aftermarket industry, including car mechanic, welder, bodywork metal worker and mechanical engineer.

Those eligible for the jobs can apply for a Danish residence and work permit.

The Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration (SIRI) says: “The Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration has updated the Positive Lists. The new lists will take effect on January 1, 2024. The new Positive List for People with a Higher Education includes 72 job titles, while the Positive List for Skilled Work includes 38.”

Other professions not related to the automotive sector include teacher, pharmacist, midwife, optician, IT worker, web editor, priest and social worker.
