Mr Kouzaris, who pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, had three teenage passengers in his two-seater van during the pursuit.

Komas Kouzaris, 26, has been jailed for 18 months for dangerous driving after he dialled 999 to tell police that he wanted to be chased.

Gloucester Crown Court heard how officers spotted Kouzaris as he sped through Cheltenham to Gloucester, reaching speeds in excess of 116mph.

Kouzaris had three passengers in his two-seater van during the chase.

Two of the passenger, a 15-year-old girl and a 17-year-old girl, were sitting on the floor in the back of the van.

Kouzaris, who pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, failed to stop despite police puncturing all four tyres and when he was finally cornered he twice rammed a police car, injuring an officer.

On police apprehension, he asked officers if he could watch the police dashcam footage of the pursuit.

Prosecuting barrister Julian Kesner said: “This was a case of dangerous driving with a number of aggravated features.

“Prior to the pursuit the defendant telephoned the police and told them that he wanted to be chased.”
