Outgoing triple champion, Greg Hancock stormed to a seven-ride 21-point maximum to win the Australian FIM Speedway Grand Prix and clinch the silver medal behind Britain’s Tai Woffinden.
The 45-year-old American said: “Winning is everything, but there are building blocks along the way.
“I’m learning all the time and I learned a heck of a lot from this.”
The GP at the Etihad Stadium in Melbourne attracted a crowd of more than 26,000 fans with Hancock’s victory giving him a season total of 147 points, 16 points behind Woffinden and 16 in front of fellow three-time champion Nicki Pedersen who came third.
