A Subaru owner has been left fuming after he discovered his dashcam had filmed the moment garage staff appeared to deliberately drive his car into a number of potholes.
Ben Newbury, from Essex, took his Impreza to the Scooby Clinic in Chesterfeild after it developed a problem with the brakes.
The footage shows the car being driven down a country lane, back towards the garage, where the vehicle appears to swerve towards large potholes.
Mr Newbery told MailOnline: “I couldn’t believe it when I saw the video.
“I got the impression they were trying to damage my vehicle.
“When I got home, I heard the audio and I was even more frustrated.”
In the video, one of the staff can be heard saying “got that one” and later adds “with a bit of luck we’ll burst the tyre, then maybe he’ll f***ing mend the lane.”
Garage owner, Kevin Knight said that he would take action against staff if necessary.
Speaking to the MailOnline, he said: “The lane is full of potholes. You cannot miss them.
“I’ve got members of staff down there today filling them in.
“I’ve been doing this job for more than 20 years.
“We take a lot of pride in what we do.
“There’s no way we would deliberately damage a customer’s car.”
It comes just a week after a survey revealed that 25,000 drivers were left stranded in 2015 from pothole-related damage.
