Owners of the affected cars are being sent letters directly, asking them to take their vehicles to their local dealership for a fix.
Group spokesman, Stefan Elfstrom, told Associated Press that the glitch can be ‘unpleasant’ but there has not yet been any reported accidents caused as a result.
The engine and the electric system start up again immediately.
