Dipstix, the website dedicated to helping motorists manage their cars, has partnered with a Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) regulated partner to make repairs more affordable.
Registered garages can now offer customers up to 60 days interest-free credit on bills ranging from £250 to £5,000, helping motorists face unexpected maintenance work.
A recent survey by Allianz Global Assistance found that just 30 per cent of people plan ahead for repair bills.
Dipstix Managing Director, David Cederholm said: “Many garages told us customers often react very negatively, even when they recommend that dangerous faults are fixed.
“So, all too often, this work doesn’t get done – or drivers go for the cheapest option – with lack of affordability usually given as the justification.”
Garages pay a small arrangement fee, and must substantiate the work with a balancing Invoice.
