Bartec TPMS tools impress Stone Tyres founder

John Stone, founder of Stone Tyres and member of the TyreSafe steering committee, says he is impressed with Bartec Auto ID’s tyre pressure monitoring systems (TPMS).

Bartec is celebrating 25 years in the TPMS market, after initially receiving a request to design and supply an antenna for Renault in August 1998. Today’s OE customers include Ford, Chrysler, GM, Mitsubishi, Renault, Volvo, Nissan, Subaru, Isuzu, Land Rover, Jaguar, Honda, Hyundai, Toyota, Kia, BMW, Mercedes and wheel manufacturers and assemblers across the world.

John Stone was introduced to Bartec’s TPMS solutions at this year’s Automechanika Birmingham, and writing on LinkedIn, he said the timing couldn’t have been better.

“We had a 2023 vehicle in that our existing machine was struggling to programme a new sensor on.”

A Bartec Tech450 unit was delivered. It features a 2.8-inch colour display, robust rubber housing, a wall-mounted or desktop charging cradle, automatic sensor identification and TPMS diagnostics via OBD Analysis.

John Stone said it’s “so easy to use” and, at the time of writing, he had “done nine replacement sensors to date, from copying IDs to full-on new sensor IDs, and learning via the OBD port.”

In conclusion, he said: “Even better, every time we turn on the machine it searched for the latest software via wifi; no hassle of plugging in leads to do updates.”
