Thamesview Tyres in Henley-on-Thames is celebrating 20 years of trading. The tyres fitters was established in 2003 by Mark Shankland and his friends, Simon Bexx and Keith Harwood.
Mark Shankland told the Henley Standard he met his current business partner, Peter Lucas, when the pair were working for his father’s tyre fitters in the town.
He said: “I started there as a Saturday boy. In fact, I started fitting tyres when I was about nine or 10 – anything to get me out of the house really and doing something useful.”
He discovered the importance of good customer service through his father, saying: “It was always about the customer, particularly in a small town like Henley. That was what was drilled into us.”
It should come as no surprise to discover that Thamesview Tyres has achieved a 4.9-star rating from 166 customers on Google, along with a maximum five-star rating on Facebook.
One recent review says: “Tyre centres are pretty horrible in my experience. Thamesview were great. Polite meet on arrival, lovely waiting area with outstanding coffee machine. Really nice staff. Sorted my tyre issue professionally. Great job guys. My daughter can bring her car in herself next time!”
Peter Lucas added: “Thamesview has been in operation for 20 years, which is a success in itself, and to have a settled team of employees is really good. The team we have is young and well-trained, hardworking and polite. We are very proud of them and very happy to still be looking after Henley residents.”
