The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) has said that five million motorists have now signed up for the free MOT reminder service.

The service, which launched in 2017, sends prompts to customers a month before their next MOT is due. It gives them time to book a test and avoid a lengthy wait for a slot.

The DVSA has introduced improvements to the service, which include:

  • Customers will no longer get unnecessary reminders for vehicles they no longer own. Instead, the DVSA will prompt them to update the reminder to their new vehicle.
  • The DVSA will automatically unsubscribe a vehicle if the owner has notified the DVLA that it has been scrapped.

Your customers can subscribe to the free service by visiting the MOT reminders website.
