The Smallest Cog, best known as Richard Hammond’s car restoration business, is holding an open day to recruit new talent.
As well as joining the team in Herefordshire, the successful applicants are likely to appear on TV, as Hammond and the team are currently filming series four of the popular Richard Hammond’s Workshop, which streams on Discovery Plus.
The former Top Gear presenter and current host of The Grand Tour said: ”When I opened the business nearly three years ago I was worried there might be a downturn away from classic cars. On the contrary, the classic car industry is booming and we’ve just got busier. It’s so exciting to be taking this next step of expanding the team.
“There’s a skills shortage. If we’re not careful some will start to be lost so we’re especially keen on hearing from talented young people who have a passion for classic cars.”
The Smallest Cog’s Anthony Greenhouse told the Hereford Times: “We’re so busy at the moment. We’re looking for fabricators, bodywork, sprayers and mechanics, so it’s a wide range of skills we’re looking for but hopefully we’re getting our name out there so we can actually find people.”
Anyone interested in joining the team are invited to the open day on Saturday 13 April. Applicants should arrive at 9.30am with a CV and a pair of overalls.
