This video, captured from a HGV driver’s dashcam, shows more than a dozen vehicles unwittingly driving into a works access road on the M60 near the Trafford Centre exit in Manchester.
Intending to exit at junction ten, the drivers realise their mistake only after coming bumper to bumper with highways contractor vehicles and diggers who are working on a £208m upgrade of the M60.
The queue of traffic backed up onto the anticlockwise carriageway, confusing the maintenance workers as to how the predicament occurred.
The HGV driver recording the footage moves out into the middle lane to over take the slowing traffic which soon comes to a standstill.
The driver can be heard laughing when he realises what’s happened.
