Castrol launches ‘National Mechanics’ Month’ to recognise excellence

Castrol has launched National Mechanics’ Month, a major new campaign to help independent vehicle workshops across the UK raise awareness within their communities and highlight the effort and achievements of their staff.

The competition will see Castrol invite motorists in the UK to nominate their favourite local mechanic or workshop, to give them the credit they deserve and help raise their profile.

All they need to do is tell Castrol who they wish to nominate and why.

The initiative will celebrate the skills and commitment of local mechanics and those workshops that keep communities moving – something that has proved particularly challenging during the pandemic.

Castrol motorsport ambassadors – F1 aces Daniel Ricciardo and Fernando Alonso, rally and rallycross star Petter Solberg, and superbike racer Cal Crutchlow – have also been involved in the campaign, taking to social media to help launch National Mechanics’ Month and to encourage the public to get involved.

Consumers can win prizes for making a nomination, and the winning mechanics will get a money-can’t-buy prize, including a virtual F1 experience.

Independent workshop owners or mechanics can also nominate their workshop, or one of their colleagues, to make sure they are recognised for their incredible work.

Nominations are now open online.
