A building formerly occupied by Halfords had been turned into a £700,000 cannabis factory in the centre of Newport, Wales.

Two Albanian nationals have been given jail sentences after Gwent Police found them tending to 680 plants in October 2023.

Sali Kadria, seen here on the left, pleaded guilty to producing the class B drug and admitted a separate charge of being in breach of sex offender notification requirements. He was jailed for 14 months.

Zenel Sulaj was jailed for six months.

According to the South Wales Argus, several disused buildings in the Welsh city have been targeted and taken over by gangsters. Gwent Police has seized more than 9,000 cannabis plants worth millions of pounds.
