The NGK developed CZ503 glow plug debutes as OE equipment under the bonnet of the new Jeep Cherokee Limited.
The new engine is one of the most powerful and economic units featured in the Jeep Cherokee range and is available in two versions which deliver 185bhp and 200bhp respectively, both with a maximum torque of 440 Nm.
The NGK plug is a second-generation new ceramic high temperature type (NHTC2) with outstanding glow characteristics.
It reaches its operating temperature of 1000°C in just one second and extended duration post-glow temperatures of up to 1350°C.
In doing so, this allows for an environmentally-friendly cold start and smooth idling even at lowest temperatures and guarantees minimum output of harmful particulates and pollutants.
NGK Spark Plugs (UK) Ltd marketing manager, Mark Hallam said: “This contract further demonstrates how as a company we work hand in hand with the world’s major vehicle manufacturers to produce parts that are manufactured to meet their specific and exacting requirements.”
