The 19-year-old drink driver dialled 999 to complain that his car had run out of petrol.
A court heard that Andrew David told the 999 operator: “I know it’s not really an emergency, but I don’t know who else to call.”
Police found him staggering at the side of the road with a petrol can and ordered him to undergo a breathalyser test.
The young driver was later given a 14-month driving ban and told to pay £477 in fines, costs and charges by Llanelli magistrates.
