The RMI has announced that it is to open a new training facility in the Midlands next spring to act as a leading industry resource for MOT tester training.
The centre will provide RMI members with benefits and opportunities as it continues to expand and develop.
The training centre will be open to all independent garages, and the RMI’s Independent Garage Association (IGA) has said it will ensure that benefits and savings will get passed on to its members.
The building will contain a fully equipped workshop and three classrooms, which can be rented out when not being used for training.
In a recent statement, the IGA said: “The RMI has been working with DVSA to develop the new National Occupational Standards for the MOT trade, and supports
“The DVSA’s move to open up MOT training to meet the needs of the industry.
“The new facility will provide a vital resource for garages across the UK throughout this change and beyond.”
